​The P821 MDN Tape is an innovative tape emulation plugin developed by Pulsar Modular in collaboration with producer/engineer Marc Daniel Nelson. This plugin meticulously recreates the sonic characteristics of the legendary Stephens 821A multitrack tape machine, renowned for its transformerless design and minimal electronics, resulting in a transparent and expansive soundstage.

• Dual Tape Formulas: Provides two classic tape formulations, 900 and 456, allowing users to choose between different tape characteristics to suit their sonic preferences.

• Variable Tape Speeds: Offers selectable tape speeds of 15 and 30 inches per second (ips), enabling control over frequency response and saturation characteristics.

• Bias Control: Features adjustable Low and High Bias settings, allowing users to fine-tune the harmonic content and saturation behavior of the tape emulation.

• Integrated Tape Delay: Includes a built-in tape delay circuit with feedback and filtering options, providing classic tape echo effects within the same plugin.

• Modulation Effects: Incorporates Wow & Flutter controls with selectable slow and fast modes, as well as tape flanging, to emulate the natural pitch variations and instabilities of analog tape machines.
