Crafted with care from wood and coconut shell, our Kalimbas feature hammered steel tines suspended over sound holes. The smaller instrument spans an octave and a half, while the larger model reaches over two octaves.

1. Close & Dry – A pristine, intimate studio recording.
2. Medium Distance in a Bright Chamber – Crisp and lively acoustics.
3. The Bunker – A deep, underground WWI-era artillery bunker, where sound takes on a haunting, immersive quality. Both close (1m) and far (15m) mic placements give you an array of rich, spatial variations.

The dry recordings feature stereo large-diaphragm condensers placed just inches from the tines, with slight wood scuffing and creaking to add character and realism.
