Helix® Native delivers the power of award-winning HX® modeling technology in plug-in form. Like the hardware members of the Helix family of guitar processors – Helix Floor, Helix Rack, and Helix LT – it reproduces the authentic sounds of vintage and modern amps, cabinets, microphones, and effects. But this plug-in’s repertoire is not entirely retro. Helix Native is an open sound design tool that will inspire film / TV / game composers, producers and engineers, electronic musicians, and anyone looking for exciting new sounds. Preset compatibility across the Helix family makes it easy to transfer your studio creations to your Helix hardware device and vice versa, and Helix Native also loads third-party impulse responses (IRs).

HX HYBRID CABINS

A New Approach to Speaker Cabinet Modeling.

Helix HX Hybrid cabs represent a new approach to the speaker cabinet capture process. They deliver the same resolution and low-fidelity as a 2048-point impulse response or higher while using roughly the same DSP power as a 1024-point IR. A choice of 16 different microphones and 23 recording distances provides additional sonic flexibility and real-time dynamic control. The Helix Floor and Helix Rack processors also allow you to load custom impulse responses, allowing you to further personalize your rig.

With Helix processors, every stage of the amp circuit has been measured and matched to the original, so every model responds and interacts with the turntable as expected. This level of dynamic circuit detail extends to areas like power supply ripple, individual tube sag, and B+ voltage control.

CAPTURE SPECIFIC FX COMPONENTS

Effects models with unprecedented authenticity.

HX Modeling accurately recreates the behavior of even the most idiosyncratic vintage effects by modeling their components. The Transtronic process emulates the behavior of virtually any germanium or silicon transistor diode, allowing you to faithfully recreate fuzz, distortion, and other pedals once considered too finicky to convincingly model.

Throbber is a “virtual light bulb” that simulates the distinctly nonlinear behavior of the small incandescent light bulb and four photocells inside the original 1960s Uni-Vibe pedals that are essential to their unique sound and vibration. The Bucketier chip and Panda circuit are virtual recreations of the Bucket Brigade (BBD) chips and compander (compression/expansion) circuits used in many old-school analog delay pedals. Accurately modeling the quirkiness of vintage analog delay pedals at the component level gives HX’s analog delay effects all their lo-fi glory.
